Never To Be

Her world is as tranquil as the salty sea On a dark, calm night. Slumber surrounds her. Serenity. A tiny star disturbs her dreams, foreign light, Exotic luminosity. Amazement awakens her. Aroused. She is helpless to close her eyes against The staccato light as it swells to a beacon. Her heart is hurried, Heavy. A rumble resounds and blackness returns as The sea is drained dry.
