In a conversation recently with someone I have known a long time, who lives, just barely, on the very fringes of what most of us consider normal and tolerable life, the topic came up of intelligence and knowledge, of intellectual education, contrasted with life-experience. The one is powered or supported by intellect, the other by emotion.
