Asleep

Asleep 20/3/07 Asleep, carried up the stairs As if weightless Towards a waiting bed Even at six years old, I feared I was too fat To be carried My eyes fluttered open Conscious of my dad Carrying me The light from the hallway shining down The darkened downstairs Before falling asleep again.
