WAIT

The barrage came in heavy and hot, First long, then short, then straddled us, Hell on Earth, shrapnel flowers everywhere, Death blossoms blooming bringing low, The Earth itself shakes as if coming apart, Over pressure as bad as steel, death around, Then its is over, nothing moves, that which can, Heads began to clear, what to do, are they coming, A distance roar, diesels roaring, tracks grinding, Lancing fire, tracers everywhere, dust and confusion, Tanks coming our way, better than fifty years,...
