In defence of Single Mothers.
I am a member of a much maligned group in contemporary society – I am a single mother. It does matter how I came to be a single mother. Most of us do not choose to be single mothers. Circumstances, events and other people can impact quite dramatically on our lives and a woman with a child, children or even pregnant, may find herself facing the daunting prospect of rearing her family, sans the psychological and financial support of a male in the family equation.
