When splitting a long story into bite-sized pieces, one faces the problem of finding suitably dramatic moments at which to end each part. Hence, the first part of this one ought really to have been the end of the last one, but I thought that that would make it too long. Bloggers do tent to have a somewhat attenuated attention span.
