The safety of your distance

Why is it so simple the translation crystal clear is it the safety of your distance that relieves me of my fear I wonder, would I have let you in Knowing you were near, I wonder, would I have let you in as I wipe another tear I wonder,would I have let you in for my heart I truly fear Why is it so...
