Mummy...Yes.
I hate them! But the doc did teach me how to use them properly. They are not touching my armpits at all. However, they've been rubbing on my inner arms some -- especially since I've been having the muscle pain -- and I have some nasty bruising there as a result.
I can't wait to get home and take that relaxing bath!

Are you using underarm crutches?
Or forearm crutches. Personally, I think underarm crutches ought to be banned. I spent seven years on and off crutches, and I was miserable for the first three...until I discovered and bought forearm crutches like my friend's mom's (polio survivor). Ooooooooooooh, the difference!
If you just have to use the underarm obscenities...DO NOT lean on them or rest yourself on your armpits. You WILL damage nerves and tissues. If they touch your underarms when you walk with them, they are too tall. Ideally, they will hit about 1 inch --2 at the most -- below the join of your arm and your torso. If you have to hunch to walk with them, they are too short.
A hot bath with Epsom salt and some lavender or mandarin essential oil will help relax the ache out, but keep the broken foot out of the hot water. Heat makes for swelling in injured areas...which you don't want.

Oh, My little Jemmie
What are we gonna do with you?? I really am tempted to be sarcastic with this newest injury, but I'll spare you today. Instead, here's a thought...It is not hard to rebreak or re-injure something soon after the original injury. That part of the body is actually still healing itself and is still weak and vulnerable. Don't kick yourself too hard (hehe, sorry, I had to get one in) Just drink, take drugs, aquire sympathy, watch movies, blog, sleep, and heal. hehe, get it? "heal"??
