A lady after my own heart!

Bobbieo, you did the right thing by telling your husband what to go do with himself. It's amazing how often the silent treatment is used to manipulate people.

Emotional abuse
I lived through several years of the "silent treatemnt". My late husband would go two to three weeks without speaking to me or my daughters. I finally caught on and went out and did my own thing - left the kitchen and laundry and went back to college and work.

After one three-week period of silence he finally decided it was time to talk to me again. In all my genteel demeanor, it was in the '60s, I responded " Go blank yourself" to which he wouldn't speak to me again for another three weeks, I was happy! Maybe this is why I lived to be 80 last week. He died 22 years ago.
