I mostly agree with you. However, I think an hour's worth of holiday party
4 times a year isn't really hurting my kiddos. Especially since I have to teach them a lot about manners and whatnot (I realize their parents should do it, but they don't) - parties make it easier to teach how to say "no thanks" and how to chew with mouths closed.
