I watched the same episode! Didn't ya just want to kiss that little girl? Anyway, you don't need to erase any memories cause those of your mom made you stronger and who you are today. Just put them away for now.

Yes, thank God that girl knew what to do. I wish childhood, for some, could
truly be carefree.  Mine never was.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I haven't seen this movie yet, but it deals with deleting unwanted memories!!!

Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey are in the movie written by Charlie Kauffman (Adaptation and Being John Malkovich) - that's about as much as I can tell you, but it might help you make up your mind about approaches to erasing memories.
