Thanks so much for your input. It really means a lot to me. I will probably call CPS if my friend's mother hasn't done so already.
Like I was telling Pecanflower a little bit ago, I haven't heard a word from my friend since her email this morning. I am scared something may have already happened. 
Over the last week or so, she's been emailing me within minutes of my emails to her. So her lack of email today has me worried.

if she went back, and is talking like I read in your last blog, she isn't feeling like her kids are abused enough, and she doesn't seem to give a shit about herself. My father was the last man who will ever hit me. God help me for saying this, but if my husband ever beat me or one of the kids, I think I would kill him, then leave the body. Women who get hit (I'm practically an expert, my family is riddled with it) feel like they deserve it, so unless you know a good hypnotist or plan to lock her up against her will, she will hurt you by GOING BACK TO HIM. She may even refuse to leave with you. Life's a bitch, I know. I can't stop thinking about her kids, I can't hug mine enough. You asked, this is my advice again...call protective services, and hope that causes her enough of the good kind of pain that she wakes the fuck up. Probably you won't, but if her family is aware of what's going on and wants to help, they could take the kids. Love to you, though, because you are in a tough spot.
