Saul, it wasn't intentional but in hindsight,
I sure wish it was.

worst poem ever
Not too bad actually.  It can serve as a neat little cautionary tale about expectations and fulfilling them.  And I don't know if the double entendre was intentional at the end, but it worked for me.

Chop off his head!!!
And that of all the philanderers.  There.  Boy, that felt good.

Faranya, ya see, I know nothing about cadence and meter,
but I was shooting for funny, I guess.

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Message delivered, loud and clear. I've read much worse writing than this! Lines 1-4 are actually quite nicely cadenced. The last two kind of shift the meter but, oh well, it's meant to be funny and not fancy. The ending rocks!  I enjoyed this. ~ faranya

oh that's so..."kind." But they probably have better ones than these,
so I'll just eat them, thanx.

Give them to the homeless, what else?  It really cheers them up.

mark2556, what would you do with my shorts if I gave them to you?

posted by Julia. on June 4, 2004 at 4:34 PM | link to this | reply

Your shorts are safe. That was terrible! So, can I have the shorts?

Sue, Katray and Eccentric, thanks for stopping by, and

with compliments for that dreadful bit of "poetry," no less! Well, it was meant to be funny, so I'm glad you thought it was.

Hi Quirky,
Lol, I loved it, please don't do something you may regret. Kind of a well deserved reversal on ole Henry the Eighth.

I have read a lot
worse, and they called it poetry. If nothing else it gave me a really good chuckle, perhaps a humor poetry site. All I want to know is which head did you cut off?

Passionflower, good thing you said that...
my shorts wouldn't taste so good today.

This is not the worst poem I've ever read. I could mention many that were just plain awful. This at least has a theme and some cohesion.

Hey, I'm just gonna pretend from now on
that I meant to sound like Lorena Bobbit. No one will be the wiser, hehehe.
