A while back...
... I got an abnormal pap, too -- but my doctor was very careful about how it was worded.
"Your pap smear came up fine, but you do have a little bug. It should go away in a short time, but here's a perscription that'll clear it up if it causes irritation."
I'm thinking something along the lines of a yeast infection, slight levels of bacteria, etc, which your body picks up on a regular basis but is usually able to clear it up, itself.
So don't worry unless things go wrong, and if you are still stressing, call your doctor and say so. "I'm just a bit worried and need more information." Then the situation can get cleared up in your head as well as your reproductive system ^_^

I agree with Spitfire. It's probably nothing at all. Once they called and said my Mammogram came back with a dark spot on it. When I went in to see the OB/GYN, he examined me and said I was fine. Some glitch or something. So please don't worry. Worry can cause bad stuff in your body.

My Sweet Sis,
Stop worrying! Trust me on this...it is NOT uncommon for paps to come back "abnormal"!!Seriously. I've had it happen and soooo many of my friends have. too, and it turns out to be nothing! I know it's still a bit scary, but there's no way your doctor would have said to come back for your annumal in a year. If she were the slightest bit nervous, she definately would have said come back in a month, or 3 or at least 6 months, K? One of my best friends found a small lump in her breast a few months ago. The doctor wanted to remove it surgically after doing a needle biopsy. So, I took her to the hospital, she had the surgery (got a really sore boob for about a week) and when the results came back, ya know what it was? NOTHING! It was simply scar tissue from having her nipples pierced the year before!!
So stop this unnecessary worrying, be happy you're fine, know you're loved by all of us, and start making your wedding plans, woman!
