I too would be more nuts

had I homeschooled, but my kids don't have the environment of near-ghetto poverty that I grew up in... actually, they have quite the opposite.  There is a place for public schools... but those who know better should do better... the homeschool riducule is simply predjudice of the unknown.

Glad I  could inspire you to write great post!

Actually, I would've been a poor candidate for...
homeschooling myself. I am a "people person," but my parents are definitely not the social type. So I liked being in school, as far as academics and most teachers were concerned. However, I was horrible at "fitting in" and "making friends" so I suffered a great deal of emotional injury. I have often wondered whether I would have done better if I had been allowed to enter society more gradually.

I would've gone nuts...

I mean, MORE nuts, if I had been homeschooled.  I loved my public school.

Admittedly, it was a nasty, lawless, run-down shithole.  But if it had been otherwise, I would've actually had to LEARN something.  God forbid!
