Some of this may be the product of...
outsourcing, most of our stuff comes from places where English is not the native tongue. An example is GM alternators of years past can be assembled in four different "clock" positions. (don't worry if you don't undestand that, it is greatly oversimplified) It is common practice to change clock positions by taking them apart and reassembling them to the correct configuration to get a customer out of a jam. Manufacturers don't like you messing with their products and labels warn you not to do this or the warranty will be void. But the label that caught my eye warned "not to rotate". It's just another side effect of globalization.

That bugs me too... it is one thing that sets me off all the time--
I once bought a new guitar tuner and the instruction slip that came with it was brutally butchered to the point of disgrace. C'mon, have some class!
Good post!

Amen to that! Sometimes I see a word spelled incorrectly so often that I wonder if I am spelling it incorrectly and have to go to my trusty dictionary to be sure!
Now, don't get me wrong--I am horrible at spelling, and thus can tolerate mistakes. It's just that when people are obviously IGNORANT that I am bugged by it!

You are so right. I get a little freaked out, wondering what it's all
coming to. Will the ignorant become the majority and take over?
