Mine are nothing if not spoiled! And I tend to use any excuse I can think of to post pictures of them.

(This blog caught my eye since I have two male GSDs!) Isn't that SOO annoying when men don't want to "take the dog's manhood?" That drives me nuts. For some reason I get really irritated when I see a man and his dog who has giant, flopping balls. Both of my boys are eunuchs, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Oddly, I've never once seen the 6-year-old's lipstick. Thank goodness. This is Charlie dreaming of his long lost balls:

LittlemsP,
No, dogs do not sense any loss from being neutered; they are dogs, not people. (Don't mean that sarcastically, but truthfully) Many male clients are reluctant or dead set against neutering; that's what I tell them..."It's A DOG!" They mate for instinct, not to say it doesn't "feel good" but they don't have the urges after neutering. Plus, it's soooo much healthier for them and eliminates bad habits like marking territory, aggression, etc. Doesn't change the personality at all.
As far as the humping, dogs (even females) do this mainly to try and establish pack order rank. The one doing the mounting is saying, "I am higher in the pack than you, or I am Alpha." They may even hump their favorite toy or blanket. Never let them hump you (God, I hope ya don't anyway!!) cause they need to respect YOU as Alpha at all times. Any other ?'s, let me know.

as our resident vet, I have a question for you. When dogs are neutered, especially the male ones, at the age of 2years rather than 6 months do they sense a feeling of loss? Also, All three dogs, including the girl, have taken to humping each other - is this normal!! It's quite funny to watch, especially when they attempt a manage a trois and aim at different body parts, including the head! LOL

Kay-Ren,
I never had a male dog, but that's gotta be embarrassing to an owner when it pops out when having the in-laws over for a visit! Yick

Quirky- I can email ya, but
what I meant was (and I questioned my comment afterwords, too) to say "
that's all I'm sayin!" In the expression type manner. I can't explain what I mean in text unless I'm just retarded. Which, well, who knows?

Yes, I know. She's an old lady, but COME ON! She didn't know it was his penis? Yikes!! That's just scary.

You're just more tolerant and have more patience than me, I guess! Good for you. Lucky.
