Curly, thanks! What you said about the "words as swords" was wonderful!
What I like about all of these snippets is that they can apply to just about any situation.

Kay-Ren, I enjoy reading them too. This is really just a snapshot
of the larger picture, little snippets of a lot of wisdom...there were so many, something like 64 comments (and only one was mine) and all with such heart. It was difficult for me to pare them down into a manageable sized post.

Hi Quirky! I am happy you didn't go, as well. We have a wonderful
club house here that doesn't have too many rules except for respect and consideration. Safety is a tenuous concept in this world and we depend upon our brothers and sisters to speak up for us when needed. Well, as you saw, we do and will. Luv ya sister!

Cadence, I wonder how much the fortune cookie writer gets paid?
Probably minimum wage. I think the mermaid has some sort of mouthpiece thing that she breathes into. I saw it on a TV show but too embarrassed to say which one.

I'm glad you decided not to leave us, Quirky.
I read an article in "Reader's Digest" this morning about people with interesting jobs, and one woman in there was a fortune cookie writer. Some of the other jobs included a chocolate engineer, a pet detective (a woman who searched for lost pets, not a dog who dressed like Sherlock Holmes), and a woman who put on a tail and acted like a mermaid for ten minute intervals every half an hour. I just wonder how she breathes--does she go up for air every now and then, or is there some sort of an oxygen tank built into her costume?

qwertyui, that's okay it wasn't that funny. But they do have pg-13 rated
fortune cookies, did you know that? What a fun job that would be, eh?

qwertyui, lol. They really do, don't they! Here's one: "Confucious say,
girl chased boy all around the church, finally caught him by the organ."

I got that line from a fortune cookie. Heh. I knew it was wise because it read "Confuscious say". Actually, come to think of it, all my writing comes from fortune cookies. They have one HELL of a writing team.

The best tape I have is on "Positive Self-Talk". I imagine my daughter, and what I would say to her, should she feel like me, but I say it to myself. It works!

Kelli, that does sound like a lot of great stuff...just remember you
can also do it on your own no matter where you are, in the grocery store, in the car...I like to play my tapes when I go to bed at night. I usually fall asleep halfway through!

About 8 months ago, I bought a program called "Attacking Anxiety and Depression". It is FULL of tapes and videos and booklets, that help and teach you to re-gain the positivity in your life. It's from
www.stresscenter.com, and it has, believe it or not, added to my life.

Kelli, YOU CAN! It takes re-entrainment of the mind, that's all.
Negative self-talk is one of the most cruel things we can do to ourselves, because not only does our mind start to believe what we are telling it, the universe sets out to create that reality. So never say that you cannot be supportive to yourself, my dear sweet friend, because YOU CAN--and you can start today!!
