Quirk,

Its like the blind man who gets one minute to see. Then he can actually describe how he feels by the beauty of sight and not just by the touch. Great post. shadow

Vibrance,
Well, you seem to have a pretty good grasp of English.

my native tongue is Hungarian

I like a combiantion of both..My journal is pretty relax and I don't worry too much about grammar in it. I'm extra careful with my fiction..at times it is difficult since my first language isnt' English...love, Vib

evangeline, thanks very much.
It's okay to visit new places by reading, but it sure can't take the place of actually being there!

and you write beautifully!

When I was small, our library teacher told us that the best reason to read is to visit distant places in our minds and learn new things, but I remember thinking quite differently, even back then.  This is not a popular idea in these poststructural, deconstructionist days, but the best writing is that which is transformative, the stuff that lifts your heart.  Always was, always will be.

Fire,
If you're only seeing the black dots, you must not be looking for the subtext.

Hi QuirkyAlone. What you say is so true
that is why I like certain writers. You can tell by word or phrase or little aside that they have been places and have hurt and lived and loved and even fucked up occasionally. William Burroughs, Jean Genet, Blaise Cendrars, Kerouac I don't know why at least one female writer doesn't spring to mind...oh yeah! Quirky!

So, like, why do all your writings look like little black...er, um,
nah, just kidding of course. You rock, woman! Very interesting stuff to ponder on, too!

I completly agree!

(I'm sure you're relieved to hear that!)

Great post -- and I won't flip-flop on that statement.

Great post.

Personally, I don't care to read something that is all research and no personality or emotion.  If I want that, I can watch The Discovery Channel.

This is wonderful, and I truly believe it.  Write what you know.  haven't we all heard that? Then you can be open and naked, which makes your writing vulnerable

On Blogit, the moral of the story is, you get more clicks writing about
writers writing than if you post what writers write/.
