Quirk,

Probably do need crib notes. I'll start with a tricycle and work my way up. You use water for a shower? Heck, I didn't know that! No wonder I get funny looks with all the soap bubbles. LOL shadow

shadow,
very funny. Maybe you need crib-notes for the car-driving. And what's to remember about taking a shower...get in, get wet, lather, rinse, get out!

Quirk,

Heck I can't even remember how to take a shower or drive a car most of the time. So trying to remember ideas are hopeless. shadow

PoopyH, it happens to me ALL THE FREAKIN TIME!!
Frustrating as hell, ain't it? It reminds me of back in my singing days when I would dream I was on stage doing a concert and I'd be belting out an awesome song; totally original, all mine. They were total hits! I lucidly tell myself in the dream to remember it. But do I? Hell no.

Symphony, lol.

Trying to fall asleep is the worst...the ideas just keep coming, and I too don't want to get up to write them down, although I have done it when I had what seemed like a particularly inspiring idea. You know the irony?? In the morning, it doesn't seem so inspiring anymore!

Talion,
good idea. But sometimes, I don't want just the "idea;" sometimes I think of a really good sentence or paragraph, and poof! It's gone. I should probably carry a tape recorder in the car...

I know exactley what you mean
every time I go to bed to try and sleep my brain starts to tick off on ideas........and I am too lazy to get back up and write them down.........and then when I wake upand  them thoughts are all forgotton.......life is a right bummer........my mind swirls over all the time I never get a rest..............my brain talks more than I do

Quirk
Most of my ideas come when I'm driving, but usually by the time I get to where I'm going, it's gone. Now I've started turning down the radio or turning it off completely and there's always a pen, paper, and clipboard on the passenger seat. When I get to a redlight, I jot down just enough to make me remember it.

vibrance, that works for some situations...but not in the shower,
and not on the freeway in the car, and not on the treadmill at the gym!! So my precious prose is gone for good (which is probably a good thing in the long run, hehe).

aardvark, human bodies should have built-in recordable dvd's
or mini-computers for that sort of thing, hehe!

I have learned to NOT go
anywhere without a pen and a small notebook...and I'll stop whatever I'm doing to jolt those thoughts down..Love, Vib

I have a similar frustration with writing music.  At least with writing, there's usually a pen or something around to jot down an idea.  Sometimes I'll have a great idea for a harmony or guitar riff, but there's no guitar or keyboard sitting around,  and even if there is, sometimes I can't play it from memory.  If only I had a DVD-RAM for my brain.  That would be cool.
