Repeatedly telling yourself something is not sufficient to make it happen. "I will bring my grandfather back from the dead, I will I will I will," is not going to bring your grandfather back from the dead. Neither are there tidy solutions to gain you what you want in each and every instance. Talking yourself into where you want to be is fine if you want to create a fantasy world where you get everything you convince yourself you're going to have, but I'm afraid reality is starker than that.

The part that needs to be added is "making self affirmations within reason."

WHAMMIE,
Being "without category" is a heck of a lot better than being "without merit," hehehe.

Actually, affirmations are very successful when done right.   Basically what you are doing is reprogramming your self-talk, and eliminating the negative things that get in your way.    If you're constantly saying "This will never work", your brain is hardly in the right frame of mind to present you with the solution that WILL make it work.    They become self-fulfilling prophecies.

So if they are going to be self-fulfilling, why not prophecy GOOD things instead of bad?

The category it most closely fits

would be self-help. I don't think that category exists here.

On another note, I'm not sure how much repeating a particular affirmation will make your life better. It may make you obsessive compulsive, but "better" in that it takes you in the direction you want to go is rather dubious. I think what you really want here is self-affirmation plus large element of luck.

I think it's fine where it's at.
Like the suggestions before me, you can always move it elsewhere.

Quirk,

It sounds more like spirituality, but health area sounds good also. I agree with T99, get a feel for the post and then make your decision. It sounds great no matter where you decide to finally give it a home. shadow

There or Health & Fitness, depending on what direction it takes.   You can always change it if it changes direction.
