for the kind words. The story within, hmmm. I'm not sure what you mean. I usually start with an idea. The work part comes in fleshing it out and trying to create something that will hold the reader's interest. For fiction, I have had ideas come from people I meet or overhear talking at the mall or in a restaurant, from newspaper articles, even from other books (like, I could write this so much better, and I would have them do it so much differently).
I believe most writers undertake a journey. I will write about that in coming days. It sounds like you may be at the beginning of the journey. If so, take heart, it's an interesting one, and as long or as short as you make it.
