There's this nutty "Magical Thinking" rumor going around...

...that you can lose weight by leaving food on your plate!

What a crock!

The way you lose weight is by not putting more food than you need in your mouth--and that can be done just as well by leaving the food OFF your plate in the first place so that somebody else can get enjoyment out of it instead of its simply going in the trash!

If this is a buffet, the people probably simply kept filling their plates and eating until that moment when they'd eaten their fill--and, then, left the rest.

These days, I try to put only what I think I can eat on my plate at one time.  If I'm hungry, I can always go back--and the walk to and from the buffet tables probably burns a few calories, and I'll take all of the calorie-burning I can get!
