It's a shame that in all organized sports, including professional,
there's always the political factor thrown in.

done that!  Hubby has developed a well informed relationship with the coach.

Good thought you have there about letting her look out for herself. Still, as a parent  I'd make it my business to get to KNOW the coach, just to find out for myself that he is all he is supposed to be

Amazman

Thank you.  It is hard not to go to bat for her but I think that she needs to stand up for herself.  The results will be greater if she does it herself.

I hope that I am speaking your language. I do not have children. I can relate to what is fair and what is rough treatment to an innocent bystander. This recently happened to a friend of mine. She has a princess and she was snubbed at cheerleading try-outs. Her act was just as good as the others but there was alot of underhandedness going on. So when all parents with their hands in the cookie jar called in their markers my friend's princess was left out. It's sad when school sports loses its way. More and more children get cheated in the process. You are a good mother. What's best is the way you have handled this situation. This will prepare her for the real world. When all those other children are having their way, yours will be sitting on that familiar sideline of life, hopefully remembering that day long ago, and when she didn't get her way. Then she will truly be at least relieved because it will not hurt anymore. Take care mother-of-princess.
