Scriber, are you saying I live on the good side of Florida?
Is there a good side? If so, I can't imagine what else Jeanne could have done to us!!

My aunt lives in the pan-handle area...
with a handful of my relatives. They got hit in the last hurricane and still don't have power. My uncle is driving over from Arkansas with a generator, because she's looking at, according to the utilities people, at least 30 days without power. I thought about you and others who blog here, hopefully you aren't having that kind of situation. Sounds like you're faring a little better than they did...glad to hear it!!

Thanks for the positive wishes, Itlmac!
Much appreciated. Within the past hour or two, I was tempted to get off my desktop computer cause the lights were flickering and I don't want to blow my computer hard drive if I lose power. It seems steady now, but I'm still nervous!

Thanks, sweet Rachel!
I appreciate it. It's still sending us surges, (like short hurricane forces but in increments) but my power came back on a few hours ago and no significant damage. (You many remember my banana trees already went to Banana Tree Heaven thanks to Frances) I just hope everyone else in Florida and surrounding northern states are doing okay, too.

The newest and latest....
I was just sitting outside in my carport and the winds are picking up but only still in "surges" as of yet. It is still a Cat 3, but we still have a few hours before all the real fun hits. Hopefully, I'll be asleep by then.

Yep, Jimmy...hunkered down here!
Aw, I don't think it will be too bad for Tampa. Of course, it hasn't
actually hit yet... I give it a few more hours to actually show her true self.

Original-I, Yes, I do believe it IS our turn again, however,
3 major hurricanes in a row? It makes me wonder what we
really deserve?! Yikes!

Thanks Sass! Yeah, we'll be fine. It just sucks to await the
electricity to go out once the bigger winds and rain start blowing. It's all a matter of time. Probably will be out of power by the middle of the night. It is a big hurricane and as far as I know, it's still a Cat 3, but who knows. Maybe we'll get lucky.

Inn-K-D,
Basically, yeah, we're screwed! Know why? Cause we've been SOOOOO lucky for so many years. It's payback time!

Geez kiddo!
It never stops for you! I can't even imagine. I was complaining about our flooding up here, but its nothing compared to what you guys are going through. Wheeling WV was pretty heavily damaged and many people lost everything. That is just an hour from us. Our turnpike had mudslides, and some flooding, but not so much damage. Many places in Pennsylvania were warned to get bottled water. You made it out of this before and you will do it again.

Spitfire, quite frankly I am getting tired of telling you to...
hang in there. Is there any way that we could work something out with the latest bitch-kitty hurricane? Maybe let her know that the whole evacuation thing was indeed, at first quite exciting but now is getting rather old. Do you think she would buy it? Maybe a little begging? Please for the love of pete stop picking on Florida. Who knows? Maybe Mother Nature is a Calgary Flames fan, in that case you're screwed.
Good luck, Spitfire (again)
