Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!

I've been doing a lot of reorganizing, throwing out, giving away, and such.  Always on the lookout for good ideas!  I'm going to print out this post so I can keep it on hand for easy reference...

You've given me some great ideas with which to work.

I certainly agree that you shouldn't keep everything....
but a food processor or blender in its original box will sell for more at a garage sale than one without its box. It's also safer and easier to pack when you move if you have the original cartons for small appliances. I do not, however, keep the boxes for huge appliances like televisions, refrigerators, stoves, or washers and dryers. As for the outgrown kids clothes, I keep only the very special ones, the irreplaceable. The handmade christening gown that has been handed down through five generations...wool knickerbocker suit with matching tam, tie, and suspenders...the sailor suit that looks so cute...the child-size buckskins....Mundane stuff like jeans, t-shirts, polos, sock, undies, and shoes all go to the yard sale, Goodwill, or missionary closet.

Great article with good advice,
but some home reorganizing shows like "Clean Sweep" would say just get rid of all the empty appliance boxes and all the "outgrown clothes saved for future generations."
