"Fishies"!? They are mighty warrior fish!

If betas (betae?) were as large as salmon, you'd have to carry a bangstick whenever you went fishing!

I had one ("Bruiser LaRue")who lived a neglected life in a five gallon aquarium and was fed bits of uncooked ground beef. He lived for two years. His head and foresection grew large, maybe growth homone in the meat, ah dunno.

Thanks, Majroj...
that was a kind and comforting comment. And you are SO right about those awful betta and plant things. I wish there were a way to disseminate the truth about those torture chambers. Those poor fishies.

He led a full life

Betas are not a long lived fish.

The beta detail I hate are those folks who are sold a rooted plant and a beta and are told that the beta will eat the roots and never need to be fed. You can't feed 'em, and you can't clean their bowl! It takes six weeks for a well-fed beta to starve to death, so the sellers get away with it.
