the Happens? Is that a paper? What state is it in? When did they do the story? Was it a general story about the issue? Or was it about a real incident? I honestly would love to know. I do not post lies you see and so if anyone ever has proof that something I have said is wrong, I wish to know so I can make corrections.

Trick-or-treating was introduced here in America as a way to try and get people to not do the devil's night kinds of things. In this area of the country we really have very little in the way of Halloween vandalism and such. It still happens, but not at the level it has in the past before trick-or-treating.
I need to do more research on the Devil's Night part of it, but form what I have found it started because kids were bored. The problem is that most info about Devil's night is from Christian propaganda and I can not take any of that to be fact.

I love Halloween.
I totally dress up and have a blast. We set up haunted trails at my house for the kids. Great info, by the way. I don't care if some religious freak criticizes me. Let em'. Take care

Kooka, great post...
I hope that this still stands after Halloween this year. We unfortunately are having a spate of criminal activity involving sharp objects and people putting them in strategically chosen places that will do the most damage to unsuspecting victims. It's not Halloween yet so your theory of bad things only happening that night stands on its own. The only demonic thing I know associated with this time of the year is "Devil's Night" (no idea origin of this fun little tradition and perhaps other people are getting the two confused). But that night is the night
before Halloween night (at least around here, anyways).

very informative
I never knew the majority of the stories of poisonings and the general perception of Halloween as being a dangerous time and such are totally false. I always enjoyed this holiday very much of course as a youngster but I was quite naturally leery of my own children participating because of the times we live in.
