Why is it we seem to want the approval of the people who withhold it?
You do not need to be in the middle of Your mom and dad. You do not need to be championing one over the other. You need to be the beautiful loved daughter.
If one is not treating You with love, then You need to build a boundary. In the Program [Al-Anon] they say, "You do not go to the hardware store for bread," and "Nothing changes, if nothing changes."
It's pretty clear right now, who knows about tomorrow, Your mom is in her disease and cannot give You what You need. You need bread, she sells tools. In addition, Your mom is trapped, she cannot change, so that leaves the change to You.
Wait for her call, You'll always want and at some level need it, but when she is able to deliver love and change, then she'll call. Until then, You just have all of the tools You can handle. Take care of You!
