I don't interpret that to mean the Universe controls us at all. Yes certain enegry forces push and flow to infinite compulsion, but one's own drive to pull away, no matter how difficult can change the course of events. Your Universe is parallel to a religious cleric/zealot telling me I have no choice. I will push that one away with my super charged force you'll never believe it. Thanks for making me think though. Boredom is lack of stimulation, fresh air will push you out of it too

That is the most thought provoking article I have read in a while. First, I will comment on your bordom. I heard that supper intelligent people were bored a lot of the time because it takes a lot to entertain their mind, I think that might be the problem in your case. As far as the no free will, I have gotten into a lot of debates with Christians about the free will argument. I tried to explain that if an all knowing god that is the begining and the end exists, then their can't be free will. We are bound by his knowlege and the future is already written. What a great read!

I just did a long paper on free will for school, and it seems to me that free will is, for most people, an illusion. Only when you realize the many influences and technicalities that exert themselves upon your life are you truly able to make a "free" decision.
