More Yikes !
Jemmie, latex can be a problem, but there are other non latex products out there (the paramedics wear them here) but holy cow, you really need to wear them. Ok, so here's the mom in me coming out :) so forgive me for being a buttinski. Even if you weren't cleaning a doctor's office, just household "stuff" can be a problem. And especially if someone pees in the garbage can ...ewwwwww !!
Your employer is goofy - are you covered by worker's compensation? If you got sick through something you touched at the doc's office they would be liable for not protecting you.
Please think about getting some gloves (and bugging your employer to pay for them). If you need someone to bug your employer let me know, I'm having a bad day and would love to yell at someone :)

PecanSis
Thanks for the thoughts of making my headache go away. It did get better after the shower. And I'm sure your house couldn't be nearly as bad as the ones I've seen.

Nope. No gloves--mainly because I am allergic to latex and because the company won't spring for any other type of glove.
So I wash my hands a lot.

I'd kiss your head and make it better if I were there
Like the good little Momma Pecan I am. I hope it gets better. Now you know why I won't hire anyone to come clean my house. They would think I'm gross. LOL

You are certainly right about that!
On my second day on the job, I was working with a trainer. I basically shadowed her and learned the ropes. We were at this one house owned by a psychiatrist and (from what my trainer remembered) a nurse.
The couple had a teenaged son.
My trainer and I heard a yelp of surprised horror coming from one of the girls cleaning the son's room. We came running to see her looking into the boy's trashcan.
In it was URINE!!! And you could tell by the stains around the trashcan that not only did this boy not have the sense enough to walk two feet to the bothroom, but he also had very bad aim.
Then my trainer and I started to make the bed.
There was urine there too!!!!! Gross!!! A teenaged boy who still wets the bed! How sick is that? And why doesn't shrink daddy do anything about this problem?
According to my trainer, this boy wets the bed quite often, though this was the first time they found urine in the trash can!
Sick, sick, sick!
