I could be why he was always showering, but OCD is also fairly common among schizophrenics, so it might have been that too. But if he didn't do many obsessive things, then yes I would say it's very possible he was trying to get rid of a smell that wasn't there

Ohhhh
Yeah, sometimes it smells like garbage, or something just plain bunk. Sometimes it smells like I stepped in some dog's business, but other times I'll smell a flower or cinnamon, so it's not always bad.

Well...like garbage smells
or dirty socks...just curious...I think my friend smelled stuff too...he'd always ask me "what's that smell"...but I never smelled anything...never thought it might be because of his illness though.

This is quite a journey into this today, UH.
I do appreciate your sharing, as it's been eye opening for me. You give a voice to this disease that is needed by many, both personally and professionally.
