I believe you are right about that in so many areas. Too bad some people can't look beyond their idea of what looks "right." It's nice you found a wonderful church.
A few years ago, my husband and I were painting an inside room. Almost too late, we remembered there was a realtor "open house" near us that we wanted to see. We dashed down in our casual clothes, not dirty, not even paint-splattered, but very casual. The agent almost strained her neck looking down on us. She made comments like, "and do you actually own a house?" and so on. We assured her we do own a house and in addition could afford the down payment and mortgage on the house we were viewing, then we left. If we are going furniture or vehicle shopping, we've found we get more attention and a better deal if we are dressed up a bit more than the casual clothes we would wear to the grocery store. Apparently, many people judge a book by its cover. Thanks for sharing your experience.
