too true, billy_cargo.
Our standard of living is among the highest in the world, so why wouldn't millions of dispossessed, landless, jobless, hopeful people want to immigrate to America? But I believe we have reached saturation point, not only with sheer numbers, but with tolerating it.

Saul this is an inspiring post because it points out Americans who
give something back to their country. So many now days just want to take, take take. We can't keep absorbing the illegals forever but I know if I was in their plight I'd be making a run for the border myself.

katray, mi amigo,
sarcasm becomes you. Or you become it. I liked this story because it reminded me of the old volunteerist spirit of American lore, like the Tennesseeans at the Alamo. But you are correct in this being a safer world. It has to be, because all the bad guys are pouring into Iraq to fight the infidel Western occupiers. There can't possibly be one single terrorist trying to gain access into this nation through its thousands of miles of borders. I mean, duh, he could just fly or sail right in, so why walk, huh?

Informative post Saul
Again, I think this can be traced to greed control. Big business wants those illegals in for extremely cheap labor so Bush isn't going to expend much effort or money to keep them out. Like the chemical companies with their unprotected yards full of deadly toxins, because increased security measures cost money they'd rather not spend. Yes, we are wide open for several horrible scenarios/attacks right here, but hey the world is so much "safer" because of the mess in Iraq...

(sorry for the sarcasm, I get carried away sometimes, lol)
