I hope so, too, katray,
for the entire world's sake.  And it does make you wonder how many Americans would have done the same thing under those same conditions, given today's jaded, cynical, self-centered populace.

But, SlyCy,
there are still those like you and I who can help regain the nation's soul.  Somewhen, somehow, we'll bring a some light into this benighted country...

he gained the presidency, sadhanm,
and a position in history as the worst president this country has ever had.  And he still has almost four years to make things worse.  And, of course, we're blessed with Dubya's bumbling platitudes...

I highly admire their courage and hope and pray the seeds of democracy are planted. Time will tell. Good post Saul.

tell me have the people of usa benfited in any way from the Iraq war notwithstanding such profound plethora of pious hopes and plattitudes for socalled ushering in of democracy? Bush may or may not have lost anything but has he gained something? I wonder.

yes, barnabee,

and, as so many are quick to point out, that's not even counting Iraqi dead and wounded totals.  It doesn't take in the number of people killed and wounded that aren't Iraqi, like defense contractors, supply contractors, businessmen, medical personnel, political personnel, killed hostages.   Who the hell knows how many people have been killed in this all too senseless exercise of Dubya's.

I hope the same thing.
Number wounded-- 10,000. Ten thousand!
