I have the opposite situation - daughter coping with father who is living with manic depression. It's just so hard to know if you're doing the right thing

My heart goes out to you. It must be very difficult to watch your daughter go through this. You are right, there is not very much information on how to parent (adult) children with mental illness or medical conditions that are commonly known as mental illness. My parents are experiencing the same thing. They feel helpless and unsure of how much they should involve themselves with their adult child's life. Perhaps you have already met with NAMI in your area? Did it help you?
