Pappy -
Thanks. And a great analogy with "dress right" and remembering that Jesus is only an arm's length away.

Good words sannhet
Prayer without ceasing is a worthy goal, yet there are cycles to everything and at times we feel closer or farther away.  No words are ever lost, so all is already a prayer of sorts.  The trick is to try to remember it.  Dress right in military parlance means to put out your right hand and touch the shoulder of the man next to you to give the right spacing in formation.  Try to imagine that Jesus is always an arm length away and can hear every word you speak.

If you mean that we all are to work toward the ultimate Truth and to unite with "God", then I guess I could see that as being a plan.

I think that if one taps into the divine, is able to utilize the power and love that we all have, then whatever one wants happens. It's part of Yeshua's statement to "ask, and ye shall receive."

Great Post

But I have an issue with this sentence.

“I don't believe that this person was saved from a fire but that one wasn't because it is all a part of God's master plan.”

We know this kind of thing happens…and if it does…it is Gods will. Therefore, it is a part of the master plan. But of course, the event had nothing to do with prayer…nor the quantity thereof.

The plan is all that matters…and the law must be fulfilled…

yes he does

but i agree with you

God does not answer requests for things or outcomes, but he does answer requests for help. Sometimes we don't really know what is best for us. We might think that the best thing would be to get this new job, but perhaps god knows better. Instead of praying to get the new job, one should pray for guidance or for energy to persevere.

We can work our way towards God in the ways you described, and we can deal with being human by knowing how and when to ask for help.
