Thanks for the kind words. And you are right. Ego has a lot to do with the illusion we are in right now.

An interesting take. So then would shamans and swamis be accessing this unaltered state as well?

altered states
The altered state is a desired condition from a feeling of lack within. The restless desire to be something we are not must end before union can take place. Thought about that thing desired is the ego itself.
I like reading your work. You're great.

Altered States…
I see this from the flipside. Mystics operate from an Unaltered state of consciousness. They seek, see, and accept, the “Real” Reality. They go to a place, where they are unaffected by the perceptions of this humanly perceived reality. It is the humans that exist in an altered state…while the Mystics leave those illusions behind…they become unaltered…unaffected…uninfected…by illusions…

I wonder if that is the state many mystics have reached. They seem to be able to come and go into this altered state at will and stay as long as they like. But they must come back to our consciousness, according to what I have read.

For some, I think it is pretty easy to enter an altered state. I've learned how to do it without much effort and no chemicals. I think it may be necessary to truly reach "God".

There is some interesting research and web sites around about consciousness. One of the problems is how to even study it. To some degree we know our own 'presence', but there is also the shared experience that two people in conversation have, then there is the 'third person' or 'they' which amounts to general psychology. All three are very different but part of the same thing. Personally, I have found that altered states, whether through chemical or physical methods sometimes offer a window or a view into another world, but not a door. It is only a door if you can go there and stay as long as you like while in a 'normal' state.

me?
i have redirected my consciousness
and we all struggle toward the light we see with altered or redirected consciousness.
some consciousnessness must deal the around
some, directed and altered, can lead some to a different state.
