I like your take on that verse. Ownership is the problem. Nothing is owned by man.

The ownership proclaimed by men…is false. Because that proclamation denies all people their equal share of God given things…or places to be.

“And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.”

All claims of ownership must be given back to God…

When this is fully understood…no one will be homeless.

I guess I will agree, sort of. While each situation is unique and we must act based on that situation, our actions should come from love. Whatever we do should be based in love.

I think you are right about unconditional love being 'with no strings attached' and we should strive to keep that in our contemplative self and in our actions.  But there are also certain distinctions made with our discernment.  There is self, there is family, there are neighbors and there are enemies.  We are to love them all, but we do not act the same toward all.  It is up to us to figure out what is best in every situation, and different situations require different solutions.  This of course causes trouble, we may seem to play favorites or even be prejudiced or bigoted in our judgements but we can only do our best.

Unfortunately, learning to love one's self is extremely hard - so judgement will always lead.
