I hadn't looked at light as being discomforting in and of itself before. Interesting take.

darkness all around is comforting -- like a blanket -- many times we seek to retain this comfort.
hold on to it like a security blanket.
light can be discomforting
that's why so many refuse it.

I like the approach. I'm going to have to try it.

I think you're right. Uncertainty is beneficial. It's the frustration of that uncertainty that Ego jumps on that slows me down.

I too enjoy being lost - as long as I can see things clearly. It's when I'm lost and can't see that bothers me.

When I experience those feelings…I play dead. What does a dead man, that trusts in God have to fear? The ego does not like it…but it has very little defense, when slapped in the face with this type of truth. This entire world (universe) is an illusion, all things here will pass away…nothing that man has done will last forever. Yesterday’s passing revels the illusion. The ego can only exist within the boundaries of the illusion…and oddly enough, it cannot follow the dead…

what you don't know won't hurt you

uncertainty
uncertainty sets the stage for further understanding. i feel as though i were in a rhythm of fear and then freedom from fear, which is exactly how it works. the ego IS fear. it takes honesty to admit this to yourself. God bless you, Sannhet.

This may be no help, sannhet
But I've usually enjoyed being lost. I used to drive a lot way out on back roads, and in eastern Kentucky that really means back, back roads. Living with a map in your head helps get home on time, but it is a kind of prison. Real freedom is being lost, and freedom brings a new mindset and the ability to see new things.
