- Go to ARE HONEST PEOPLE GOING TO HELL?
Honestly...
I have been studying Christian and Jewish religion a lot and i think that many ppl misinterpret this well known book called Bible that could be summarized in several wordslike "show love to yourself and to the others"...
Ppl cannot say that sb is going to hell...are they God to make up such decision?
Religious fanatism is a real dangerous thing!

IT'S NOT ABOUT US
I think a lot of people get bogged down with questions about whether certain behaviors will get us in good with God or like-wise put us in danger of hell-fire when really I think the question we should be asking is: Why did Jesus go to the cross? The answer, according to the Bible, is because none of us can be good enough to earn our way to heaven. Jesus took the place of our suffering which none of us could hope to escape without His sacrifice. If we accept His sacrifice and are truly repentant for our sins then we will be saved by His grace. Those who have never heard of Jesus will not be held to the same accountability as those who have heard and CHOOSE not to believe. The choice is always ours. God gives us the choice because that is the only way for love to truly exist. What you or I or anyone else thinks does not matter on this subject--God will be the final judge of our souls and those of us who are true believers will not willfully live in a sinful manner. Anyone who does may be deceiving themselves about their salvation

Being saved isn't an automatic ticket to Heaven.
We were saved, all of us, when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We are the ones who have to work to keep the sins off of our souls. We must be sorry for them. If we gossip, lie, cheat, steal, we must stop it, we must be sorry and try not to do them again. Then being saved will get us to Heaven.

denial
denial is a powerful force in the mind. we like to think we are something we are not, and being it is only created through comparison of others to ourselves. we can justify any behavior if we think hard enough to find a way to escape self-judgment about it.

Painter -
I'm with you. In my book it has everything to do with intent. If one's intent is to be good and loving but one slips on ocassion, then one will continue to move toward "God". If the intent is not there, or if the intent is bad, then will not move toward "God" and may move toward "Hell".
