She just has to learn to forgive herself as well.

Yes, word.smith,
and no matter what she has done, she is unconditionally loved by God, as are all of us -- in spite of our imperfections, sins and foibles. Thanks for stopping by!

I feel sorry for her and I
don't know her. She has a heart though. I just hope she manages to get over what she felt she had to do.

Thanks CP for visiting!
We have some different religious beliefs, you and I, but I definitely respect your position and appreciate your comments. No matter what, she needs unconditional love and support and comfort. I hope her friends and family will be of support to her. Thanks for stopping by.

Comfort
Poor girl. I like your idea of having leaflets on hand for support groups. I have told people in similar situations to forgive themselves, that life is eternal and all souls are reborn until they attain spiritual ascent. That the souls who are on the earth right now are important and not those who are yet to be reborn, because they will be reborn whatever. I would say it's about removing the guilt from her shoulders and letting her continue her life. But that's my personal opinion, based on experience, and I wouldn't presume to force it down someone else's throat if it did not give at least a degree of comfort somewhere! God bless.

There might be hope for this kid ...
she asked you a question that's impossible to answer.

I agree, Lady.
I was caught off guard with this pt, and wished I had info on hand for follow up emotional support. There are some great organizations that provide post abortion counseling. I'll be able to offer this in the future . . . but dropped the ball for this poor girl.
