Thanks to Al Gore, huh?

Sannhet: Thanks RE Valentinus. I just looked...
him up on the Internet. Apparently the Gospel of Truth was a part of the Nag Hammadi find, along with the Thomas Gospel. Written in Greek and translated to Coptic, and how could he have imagined that one day we'd be reading it in English on the Internet!

Actually, I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this post. The Gospel of Truth was written by Valentinus, not Valentine. Sorry for any confusion.

Any time. It's actually kind of interesting how many documents from that time frame seem so modern in style, isn't it?

Thanks for that, sannhet
I had not read the Gospel of Truth before.  It does not sound like it is 1850 years old in its style.

Very good. I wonder if...
this is the same Valentine, the Roman martyr, who became the patron saint of lovers. Or is this another Valentine, who was overshadowed by the famous St.Valentine?

I might say, it all has to be remembered.

Do you have any background information on Valentine?  Just curious.  I find the early church history fascinating, but also very confusing!
