Interesting thoughts!

Hammock, that's a cool thought about the "peace pipe." I'm not sure quite what you mean by it, but I like the vibe.

Scoop, I agree completely. The blame goes back and forth. What pains me is when the people who were in a position to do something but didn't  - i .e., the senators who were supposed to be overseeing the intelligence commnuity - refuse to accept their own responsibility. And I agree also that it takes both parties working together. The stumbling block there seems to be on whose terms. The liberals want everything there way, and to hell with the consequences.

Gleen, I like you. Tell me, what group am I a paying member of? And,as you'll recall, the first WTC bombing happened under the Clinton administration.  If George W. Bush is to blame for the second bombing, as liberals like to think, then who is to blame for the first? But be that as it may, the intelligence problems go back through every administration, of either party, for years. The Clinton administration, unfortunately, exacerbated them with its short-sightedness.

The blame game could go on like dominoes, but it won’t solve anything. My memory is not that great but I think the first attack or major attack on the US was in October 1983 when Islamic Jihad sent two suicide trucks loaded with  bombs into the Marine Barracks in Beirut killing almost 250 marines.

So do we blame Reagan, Carter, Nixon? No we go on and on until 9/11 and then we wake up. The main problem is this; we dropped the ball. So many agencies either missed things or did not share information and we all suffered. That is why we will never get anywhere until the Repubs and Demos start working together.

Writeroflight,

You are a paying member of a group that thinks the rest of us are complete fools! The Bill Clinton Administration is "not" responsible for the incompetence of George Bush! Remember the first bombing of the WTC? No one blamed Reagan and Bush I! Remember??? George Bush, Congress, Condi Rice, Corporate Media maybe but not the Clinton Administration. Stop it!

And if Bolton is the best the Bush administration can dredge up, America is lost!!
