Glennb, your assessment of Amercan moral credibility is correct.
To judge others by our crass standards would be hypocritical at best.

And, scoop,
what I want to know is: why must we change it or feel the need to change it? Just because Iraqis (Afghanis, etc.) are different doesn't give anyone to judge them or attempt to alter them and their lives. It's this diversity that makes this planet a great place to live. How terribly bland the world would be if we all became the homogenized world in accordance with Bush and Co.'s ideas of world democratization and, inevitably, cultural and intellectual assimilation (American WASP, or course). You see, I, too, am a skeptic of anyone who claims they are trying to win the hearts and minds 'of the people' through warfare and bloodshed.

Scoop,
America does not have the moral credibility to judge any other humanity on the Planet! The Bush Klan has killed or maimed more humanity than Saddam Hussein! Fact! The sad part is it was for greed and hatred combined. That is the problem!

I am a skeptic, I don't think that the US will ever be able to
straighten out the situation, our ideas and culture and what their past, religion and lives are, is something we cannot change.

Yes, readywriter55,
and let's hope it's a one-way bridge home.

The War still is not going well, there is a "great gulf" between entering and leaving -- Hopefully we can bridge that gap soon!
