Go to Bush's War, or The War Of The Gulf

- Go to No WMDs In Iraq? Are You Certain? I Mean, Really?
Maybe, Glennb; maybe not.
I'm opting for not, hoping that there is at least one honorable person left that's been around Washington politics.

DamonLeigh:
The legality of the war isn't in question in my mind; there was and is nothing to substantiate the invasion of Iraq. Ritter and Duelfer have both reported on the nonexistence of any type of WMDs. Then the party hacks enlisted the credible Colin Powell, making a mockery of his position and prestige (whether or not Powell knew the intelligence reports were bogus to begin with is conspiracy theorizing, but I rather like Mr. Powell and his record up to that point before the United Nations, and I beleive he was an unwitting dupe in a Bush/Rice/Cheney propaganda leverage move). Everything that has come out about prior intelligence to the 9/11 tragedy, the Bush administration's reaction to it (including the subsequent invasion of Afghanistan), Bush and Co.'s attempts to cover it all up, the invasion of Iraq (and its mishandling from "go"), and Bush's claims during the election to winning the war on terror (which a report just released shows was a bald-faced lie) while calling a damn color-coded alert (a system now understood to be a huge joke) every other week to keep the public aware of his take-no-shit attitude -- all of it is the greatest political farce ever performed in Washington.
The sad thing about it, DamonLeigh, is that most Americans, including conservative Democrats and others, supported that insipid fool all the way into re-election. Most of those same people still support him. And I can't help but think that somewhere in all that vast majority of the American voting public there is concealed one helluva lot of guilt being crushed by prideful denial. No way will I ever beleive that those voters so swayed by Bush's pompous and assinine rhetoric cannot function above the level of Pavlovian experience. I refuse to beleive it. I am hoping that they'll wake the hell up before he does any more damage to the country and the planet. He's done far more than enough already.

DamonLeigh,
Interesting! But this happens when citizens give keys to inmates!

We're Getting Reports...
...here in the UK that our Attorney-General had grave misgivings 10 days before the invasion as to its legality.
He categorically said that regime change was definitely an illegal motive to go to war.
But regime change is pretty much all we got, and all the rest was froth and bullshit. Christ - even Scott Ritter, top weapons inspector in Iraq after the Gulf war, was totally insistant that there were no weapons.
The protests were in vain, though, cos Bush knew we were right, and he was off to war anyway because he needs to keep his tongue as far up the ass of American oil interests as he possibly can. And how better than to steam in and grab the third-largest reserves on the planet through military force, and dress it up as some sort of humanitarian crusade?
The cycnicism is just staggering.

Everybody already knows that, Glennb.
What we want is a public admission by Dubya and Co., which we will never get. No way can that megalomaniacal moron admit to his real reasons for invading Iraq, not after it's cost so many lives. It'll never happen.

Saul_Relative,
If you believe the invasion of Iraq was about WMD, MMD, DDD, ADT, or any other collection of letters you can write, I have a Bridge that spans the East River in New York that I can get for you cheap. The Whole Planet was forced to sit and watch America do a "Hitler" on Iraq! Every leader on the Planet knew Iraq was a defeated military power with zero ambitions other that to be allowed to contribute to Peace on the Planet! It is Public Record!
Why not apoligize and give Iraq back to the Iraqi People? This was a big lie! Nothing less!
