Billy Cargo, I think they treated me worse because they knew me so I would "understand". I understand allright. I loathe thieves and those that put on "charming" tones and do it are the worst.

I can't believe they stold your idea. At least they responded. My last
query letter apparantly fell on deaf ears at Outside magazine.

One can take back their power in changing a last (or any) paragraph...or sentence, or word, for that matter.

Temple, thanks. I was only saying that authors should be credited. Don't worry, I have not been sucked in by a thing

May, stop letting him suck you in.
You're better than that, sweetie. Remember? No more of his negative crap?

I don't think it's that great....I like that "writer" is in there though...
I just do it to make money, and I still haven't figured that out yet. I'm struggling big time, not making rent, no food, the starving artist thing all the way. I only do it because at some point I will replace it with "author." (I hope.) :)

Sassyass, I am quite persistant but the market for what I do is not huge. On the other hand when it works it's great as the money is quite good

Tigerprincess, this is something I learned long ago. On the other hand it is worth giving some ideas away--good karma etc

Because "freelancer" is such a cool word?
I prefer "group medical".

I wonder why they think you'd
want to hand your story to them on a platter for someone else to write it? Tough luck this time. I hope you you will have your idea accepted somewhere else.

No it is not nice but it is not worth burning my bridges over. Next week I could send an idea and the reaction could be completely different. Though I must confess these occasions are the most frustrating-- you get everything right but still miss out. Still I am accustomed to the hard realities of this life

Good post, MayB. I'm afraid that I would not be as forgiving as you in such a matter.

Good idea to keep the details under wraps. Just keep sending it and eventually it will be accepted.

I forgot to add
that when one door closes, another one will open. It never fails if you are persistant enough.

Never let them get you down
I keep trying until someone excepts it. I love freelance writing, and I also love the recognition and money that I gain from it.

MayB - I hate when this happens. Pitch it again--you did right in not
revealing too much.
