That's a lot of work
That has got to be exhausitng. SOunds like a great assignment though that the kids have. It will give them valuable experience. And I agree with what you said about giving them a grade.

Factorfiction, no grading posts is not my thing nor is grading assignments. I am happy to give the constructive criticism but the grade is meaningless beyond fulfilling a need by the university for paper work

or the ones who just use the word just,
just too many times...usually I go back and delete that word entirely from things I write...but I am "just" very tired at the moment.

Ginnieb, yes it is true that we must act in the roles we choose for a while before we feel comfortable

Saul relative, I notice is that in spite of being poor writers, some bloggers are able to convey their personalities brilliantly

Johnmcnab and ca88andra, I am putting together just that kind of proposal. Of course finding time and energy to do it would be another matter

Yes, and for a girl who had always listened in class and done a decent job, getting my first "F" for a misplaced comma sent me straight over the edge. I am now "The Devil."

That sounds like a very sensible idea, MayB, if the cash was available. A local area or college newspaper perhaps?

May thats not such a bad idea! You know there are the odd classrooms around that do teach by using hands on projects and the results are very promising.

I imagine you with a pencil behind your ear. Now, I want a smiley face on my blogs. I could care less about the grade but this was a problem in school too.

There's nothing else like job experience MayB....
...after my years at college, the first time I was face-to-face with an abused woman (I was in social work), I froze. Luckily I quickly realized that I had to gather together all that I'd learned at school and put it into use.

MayB, there is little doubt
that journalistic excellence may be a bit much to ask for amongst bloggers. There is even smaller doubt that most bloggers are terrible writers. But as for opinions, well, let's just say, no matter how well written, those tend to come across without too much confusion.
