That's so awful!  Why don't people place more importance on their children? It just makes no sense!

Jemmie211 - That has always been a problem in modern society.   Once I was conned into babysitting three children after school each day for $5.00 per week (total) because they played on my sympathies and made me think they were poverty stricken.   Even though I really liked the children, I stopped immediately when they let it slip that they were planning a vacation trip to Italy.

Jemmie, I love spending time with my own children but I am not cut out for it as a job. I have friends who are

I love to work with kids and would do it for free if I could (as I have in the past).  But I still think it wrong of society to pay so little to the folks who care for their kids.

Yep looking after children is under-valued. I need to be paid a lot to do it as it would be a nightmare job for me

The early employer gets the employee. A race between the two! Good luck.

Hey hope you get the job!!  I remember when I was a case manager working with disabled adults and made about 8.00 an hour. But if I worked that the rec center, owned by the same company, as a bartender, I could make 11.00 an hour.  How messed up is that??  Pretty weird values here in the world.

Go Easy,
Ja

So true!  Aren't our society's values twisted?  *sigh*

Kinda like the argument about teachers versus actors. You get paid squat for shaping the life of a child, but if you have the right look and can memorize a few lines you can make millions....But good luck with the job!  Getting a discount on nice clothes is quite a nice perk!
