Excellent question to ask oneself.  And I have actually done just that.  However, that little voice inside my head then asks, "But do I want to live without it?"

I don't know if that'd work for me.  I tend to want to buy things even more if I carry them around for a while.

When you want to buy something ask, "Can I live without it?"

well, sorry I can't help you here.  It is an addiction for me.  When I don't have the cash, I just try to distract myself from thinking about it.  I wish it were easier!!

Go Easy,

I buy socks...they cost very little and take up even less room. Bet you've never heard of anyone with a sock fetish, huh?

Part of shopping is the actual purchase
I know, I've been having the same urge to shop lately too. I find that what helps is if you pretend your going to buy something. You know, pick it up carry it around, shop around the store some more, then come really close to actually waiting in line. Actually find a big line, and wait in line for a while. When it gets close to your turn at the register, walk away, dump the item off, and leave the store.

You get almost the same satisfaction out of this as you would from actually buying it.
